Volodymyr Kopot’s trumpet can be heard at more than 20 tape albums and CDs – among them are steady performances in the albums of famous saxophonist and fellow Honored Artist of Ukraine Igor Rudyi. He is also on the CD Intrer Jazz series, Dnipro Jazz & Co. recordings and many others.

Another rich side of Volodymyr Kopot’s activities is the film and animated pictures sountracks – A Friend of the Deceaded, Flying Asleep and Awake, Fundjou Star, All About the Kozaks, Semolina, Adventures of Captain Vrungel and around 100 of other works. Volodymyr Kopot has also made some appearances as an actor in a couple of motion and music films. Among his latest works is a trumpet part in the 3D musical Baron Munchausen.

Volodymyr Kopot is one of the founders of the Ukrainian Trumpet Professionals Guild in 1994, and since 1998 is a member of the International Trumpet Guild.

Together with different bands and ensembles, Volodymyr has toured across the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, India, Yemen, etc.

Volodymyr Kopot accompanied many well-known singers including Tamara Gvarzitelli, Alexander Malinin, Nickolay Karachentsov, Ivan Popovich, Nazariy Yaremchuk, Vasyl Zimkevych, Vitaliy Bilonozhko, Evgeniya Miroshnichenko, Pavlo Zibrov, Olexander Ponamaryov, Taisiya Povaliy, Andriy Danylko and many others. He also participated in joint projects with the Oleg Lundstrem Orchestra, Vince DiMartino, John Kellaway, Roy Ayers, Jonathan Butler, Igot Rudyi and others. Volodymyr Kopot was also close friends with genius modern trumpeters Timofey Dokshitser and Maynard Ferguson.

Timeline
1951: Born in Cheshki village, Lviv region, Ukraine.
1971: Graduated from the Lviv music school and entered the Lviv Conservatory, class of A. Shvetz. The same year joined the Ukraine Cinema Hall Orchestra.
1974-1976: soloist of the vocal-instrumental ensemble Arnika.
Upon graduation from the Conservatory became a soloist of the popular vocal-instrumental ensemble of the Lviv regional Philarmonics Vatra (music director – Viktor Morozov).
1979: moved to Kyiv and joined the Kyiv Music Hall Big Band.
1980 – 1994: member of the Kyiv Pop Music Theatre Orchestra.
1991: collaborated with edgy jazz orchestra Jazz Arphi Band (Lyon).
1992: became an Honored Artist of Ukraine.
1994-2000: played at the State pop-symphony Orchestra.
1997-2000: performed in the Munich Orchestra under conduction of Frederic Manukian.
1995-2000: indulged in teaching activities (Kyiv State Gliera Higher Music School)
2000-2004: member of the Alex Fokin Radio Band (National Radio Company of Ukraine).
2004-2007: played in the Circus Krone Orchestra of the Swiss National Circus (run by Germain Burge).
2007-current: leader of the jazz formation Dnipro Jazz & Co.
