Musician, composer and educator from Peru with a recognized career. He plays saxophone (soprano, alto, tenor and baritone), Bb clarinet, flute, piccolo flute and EWI.
Karlhos has had a career as a sideman and a recording musician since 1996 (accompanying and recording with numerous artists). He is professor at the University of Applied Sciences (UPC) in Lima and tutor On Line for several saxophonists. He taught for over 15 years to most representative saxophonists of Peruvian music scene in the area of popular music, jazz and fusion.
As a solo artist, Karlhos has three albums: Un Día Diferente (2007-2009), Backstage (2008), and Misajel/Escamilla Project (recorded in Mexico, 2009). The latter is part of the double album entitled MISAJEL 2011 and can be found on Spotify, iTunes, CD Baby, amazon.com.
He was invited by the International Conservatory of Music “Souza Lima & Berklee” (Sao Paulo – Brazil) where he continued the specialization of Jazz Performer. He participates in “CLAEM” (Latin American Centre for Advanced Musical Studies) and writes articles, amongst them also for mysaxtalk.com (Miami – USA).
From 2011 to 2013 Karlhos made numerous master classes and concerts in Peru, Brazil and Mexico. His experiences led him to become the first Peruvian saxophonist to be chosen as artist for P.MAURIAT Saxophones. He also endorses Theo Wanne Mouthpieces, Rico Reeds, Barkley Mouthpieces, Forestone reeds and Beechler/ARB Mouthpieces. His name appears on official websites together with the most prominent saxophonists in the world.
In 2014 Karlhos participated in Expomusic Sao Paulo and in the first Barkley Smooth Jazz Festival.
Currently he performs concerts and master classes and is producing his fourth album.

Su nombre aparece en cada página oficial junto a los mas destacados saxofonistas del mundo.
2014 participa en el ExpoMusic Sao Paulo y en el 1er Barkley Smooth Jazz Festival.
Actualmente realiza conciertos/Master Class y produce su cuarto Disco.
