Alejandro Chiabrando

A native of Rosario, Argentina, Alejandro has degrees in classical clarinet from Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Argentina, 1995) and in Jazz Performance from Berklee College of Music (Boston, 2003) where he studied with jazz masters Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Eddie Tomassi, Dino Govoni, Frank Tiberi, Shannon Leclaire, Dave Santoro among others. He has been the saxophone and clarinet teacher at the Municipal School of Music in Rosario, Argentina since 1992 until 2000. He taught at Ruth Halmiton/Etta Garret Music & Arts Academy in Dorchester, MA and was the woodwind teacher at Salomon Schechterschool in Soughton, MA.

He has been working as a professional saxophone player in Argentina and USA for more than 15 years playing at Rosario’s jazz festival for 9 consecutive years; Beatown Jazz Festival; Boston, MA; International Festival in Lowell,MA; Latino Festival in Worcester, Peabody, Lowell, Salem, MA. Alejandro has been playing with the Picante Jazz Orchestra from Boston and New York and with them performed at the MIT, Tufts University, Democrat National Convention, Latin Nights at Boston Harbor Hotel. He also has played with the Beantown Swing Big Band; Eguie Catrillo Big Band; Pablo Ablanedo Octet; Joe Cook; Brian Walkley’s Band’s, Boston Bass Player Ray Brown.

He has played gigs with musicians like Bob Gullotti, Leo Genovese, Baron Brown, Phil Grenadier, Boby Gay, Bandoneon Player, and grammy winner Raul Jaurena. Alejandro has recorded his last CD “Green Light” at PBS (Peter Kontrimas Studios) in Westwood, MA with Phil Grenadier on trumpet; Leo Genovese, piano; Nick Falck, drums; Demian Cabaud on bass.
