Adam Klemm

Born in Novi Sad in 1976, after graduating from secondary music school “Isidor Bajić” in Novi Sad, Department of Clarinet, Adam Klemm continued his education in Budapest (Hungary) and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. In 2005, he received the title of MA-jazz saxophone player.

During his Graz studies, he earned a scholarship from the Austrian Ministry of Culture to study at the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. Upon his return from Finland, he played with the legend of the Austrian jazz scene Karl Ratzer and released a CD with Sarajevo’s jazz group “Minority”. He has performed with: Dennis Rowland, Gianni Basso, Lee Harper Little Big Band, Karl Ratzer, Barbara Hendriks, Ladislav Fidri, and many others. As the leader of his own Adam Klemm Banda he has released his first album “Hot Coolen” under the independent Sensor Records label in 2007. Since 2013 he has been working in the studio on his second project, which is currently in post-production. From 2008 on, Adam endorses P. Mauriat saxophones. Since 2008 he is a member of the Slovenian national Big Band, the RTV Slovenia Big Band. He is also teaching saxophone and jazz band at the music school GCEW in Ljubljana. In 2011, the Slovenian national big band handed him a scholarship for a short stay in New York, where he had lessons with Ralph Bowen, Eric Alexander, Seamus Blake and Tivon Pennicott.

As a member of the RTV Slovenia Big Band, he had a pleasure to perform with jazz greats as: Mike Stern, Ernie Watts, Joe Lovano, Ronnie Cuber, Patti Austin, Peter Erskine, Nicholas Payton, Kurt Elling, Paquito D’Rivera, Georgie Fame and many others.

Adam is one of the artistic leaders of the RTV Slovenija Big Band and he is a member of the artistic council of the Novi Sad Jazz Festival in Serbia.
