Born 18.03.1974 in Kyiv.
1983 – entered music school, a class of clarinet. Already in1984 started playing in children wind instruments orchestra Kamerton.
1989-1993 – studied in Kyiv State Gliera Music School, jazz department (alt-saxophone class, professor G.Ivchanke). In 1990, being a second-year student was invited to join jazz quartet Kyiv Jazz Pedagogues headed by well-known Ukrainian pianist, composer and arranger E. Dergunov.
In 1992 as a soloist of Kyiv State Gliera Music School Big Band participated in tour across five German cities.
Since 1993 worked in Big band of Kyiv Theatre of Popular Music.
In 1993 entered Kyiv Tchaikovski State Conservatory, department music department, alt-saxophone class, the jazz education programs being unavailable back in that time in Ukraine.
1992-1995 – session musician of the State popular and symphony orchestra of TV and Radio company.
1994-1996 – pedagogue and illustrator at Kyiv State Gliera Music School.
Since 1999 worked in jazz group Night Groove, which in different times united players from Ukraine, the USA, Israel, and Germany.
Participant of more than 30 jazz festivals, such as the Unity, ZA JAZZ FEST, Autumn Jazz Marathon, children jazz festival Atlant-M, Koktebel Jazz Festival, Dodzh, Yalta Wine and Jazz festival, Brazilian Metamorphoses, Jazz Standards, Autumn Blues in Nikopol, Jazz Carnival in Odessa, Jazz Jamboree in Warsaw, etc.
Participant of jazz nights hosted by Oleksiy Kogan, Ukrainian project organized by Y. Roma, Oleksiy Kogan jubilee concert “Just 50”, evening in memory of V. Simonenko in Kyiv, concert series “Jazz in Philharmonics” in Kyiv and many others.
Constant participant of Jazz Kolo – jazz project of Igor Zakus. Artem Medlenko regularly performs and makes records with such jazz musicians as pianist Natalia Lebedeva, Ilya Eresko, vocalist Yulia Roma, pianist Vladimir Prihozhay, bass guitarists Ilya Alabuzhev and Konstantin Ionenko, drummer Alex Fontaev, guitarist Alexander Pavlov, multi-intrumentalist Vladimir Zinkovskii. He also collaborates with many well-known Ukrainian and foreign performers: De Phazz ( Karl Frierson, promo tour Koktebel Jazz Festival, 2010), Eric Marienthal, Zlata Ognevich, Lana Merkulova, Viktor Pavlik, Konstantin Meladze, Irina Skazina, Katya Buzinskaya, Vladimir Grishko, Man Sound band, etc.
Since 2010 – pedagogue in Kyiv State Gliera Music and Master Class Arts College.
Artem Medlenko’s pupils have become laureates of many competitions and currently continue their studies in the United States (New School, NY) and Austria.
Participated in recordings of more than 20 CDs and soundtrack for Valeriy Todorovski motion picture “Stilyagi”.
Presently is actively involved in concert and pedagogue work.
