Qiu Zhongzhi is a young saxophonist from China who started to learn classical saxophone at a very young age.
He has been teaching saxophone at the Guiyang College of Humanities and Science for years and has been recognized as a reputable undergraduate educator. He instructed many students in the European Conservatory of Music. Besides, he also published some musical scores such as “Saxophone Quartet Collection Arranged From Classic Music” in April 2017, “Since I met you” in April 2020, and an advanced educational textbook “Jazz Solfeggio Training” in December 2020.
At present in 2021, he is pursuing a PhD in Music in the Academy of music in Kraków, Poland. During his study, he has inspired by Professor Haiping Wang, Doctor Meng Ge, Professor George Kozodoy, Associate Professor Nikita Petrov and Roman Shimanetz. In addition, he has performed at various concerts and won many international awards.
He received his master degree in classical saxophone theory from Belarusian State Academy of Music. After returning to China, he participated in the formation of GUI A Big Band and MJ Jazz Band. He is also invited to be the guest saxophonist of Guiyang Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra and Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, and the principal saxophonist in GUI A Big Band.
