Highly regarded as one of the most energetic and versatile saxophonists on the scene today. Being active in performing jazz, classical and many other world and modern styles of music make Patrick sought after as a performer. Patrick is currently on faculty at The University of Texas at Brownsville where he directs the One O’clock and the Two O’clock jazz bands, as well as teaches jazz improvisation and saxophone.
As and educator Patrick has presented clinics and masterclasses in the U.S., Mexico and Asia Pacific, and has been a featured artist and performer for many concerts and music festivals. Patrick Trahan is the former saxophonist for three time Grammy award Winning Little Joe and La Familia.
While Patrick toured with Little Joe, he performed in many notable venues across the nation and has had the opportunity to share the stage with many great artists. P. Mauriat artist/clinician and Rico Reeds performing artist, Patrick Trahan began playing the saxophone in 1988, and has always set himself apart from the rest of the crowd. Patrick has always taken top honors on the saxophone in school competitions, and was even selected to tour Europe in high school with an honors Wind Ensemble made up of students from all across the nation. Patrick has earned degrees for the University of Mary Hardin?Baylor and the University of Texas Pan? American. In school Patrick was able to study Classical Saxophone with some great teachers, such as Dr. Todd Oxford, Dr. Jeremy Justeson and Dr. Cynthia Cripps. Presently Patrick Trahan is a full time educator, he felt that his need in the classroom was more important than the time spent on tour. He spends a great deal of time at making sure that his saxophone students are always challenged and going the right direction with their musical growth. He is also active in giving advice to many teachers and students all over the world.
