Marie KIKUCHI is a Japanese Saxophonist and Assistant Professor at Tokyo College of Music. She have D.M.A.
Graduated from the Music Course of Kanagawa Prefectural Yaei Higashi High School and Tokyo College of Music. She graduated from the Saxophone Department of the Conservatoire de Cergy-Pontoise studied with Professor Jean-Yves Fourmeau,with a unanimous gold medal and a first prize with praise. She also received a unanimous gold medal from the jury of the chamber music department of the same conservatory, as well as a Tres bien, the highest evaluation in solfege, analysis, and harmony.
After returning to Japan, she was the first wind instrument major to be accepted into the doctoral program of the Graduate School of Music at the Tokyo College of Music, where she studied as a scholarship student. In March 2022, she received a doctorate (music) from the unanimous vote of the jury for her performance and thesis on lchiro Nodaira’s “Les voies du souffle,” and completed her studies at the top of her class.
She has won prizes in national and international competitions, including 1st prize at the 7th Nantes International Saxophone Competition (France).
She is a member of Tokyo SDGs Brass Band.
