Fabian Capaldi was born on 2nd April 1984 in Olten, Switzerland. At the tender age of seven, he discovered his passion for music and began taking saxophone lessons at the Olten music school.

On completion of his national service in a Swiss army band, he decided to turn his passion, into his profession and started by studying in the preparatory class at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern, where he successfully graduated.

During the Autumn of 2006, he commenced his Bachelor studies at, the Luzern College of Music and successfully completed two Master degrees. One in 2011, ‘Master of Arts’ in Music/ Performance Jazz and in 2013, Master of Arts in Music Education, both with distinction.

2010 Fabian Capaldi is awarded the ‘Friedl Wald Trust’ sponsorship prize.

2014 Fabian Capaldi is awarded the ‘Solothurn Kantons’ music prize.

Before his jazz studies at the Luzern Conservatorium ,Fabian Capaldi was already appearing in various groups and projects.

Regardless, of with his own projects or as a freelancer, he is always searching for and exploring new terrain and his stylistic freedom allows him to be equally at home playing, jazz, soul, funk and pop. His versatility is refined by the considerable number of concerts he plays in variable formations, such as, Gloria Estefan, Christoph Walter Orchestra, Albert Hammond, Donna Summer, Nik Bartsch (Ronin, Ronin Rhythm Clan), DJ Bobo, Pepe Lienhard, Roger Cicero, Joy Denalane, Rhonda Dorsey, Nelly Patty, Charles Simmons, Patrice Covington, Alan Clark, William White, Seven, Marc Sway, Stefanie Heinzmann, Kathrine Jenkins, Petula Clark, Klaus Doldinger, Lou Bega, Paul Kuhn, 21st Century Symphony Orchestra, , Caroline Chevin, Fabienne Louves, Polo Hofer, Hanery Amman, Phil Dankner, Michael v.d. Heide, Padi Bernhard, Christian Schenker, Eve Kay, Jenniffer Kae and many more. Recordings for radio and television, studio jobs, for among others, the Universal Music Group, worldwide tours and concerts are now part of his very busy professional career, last not least, because of his ability to play in a myriad of styles.
