From Russia with love, Rustem Galiullin is an energetic and versatile trumpeter who is currently active in Thailand's thriving jazz scene.  He began his professional music career graduating with distinction from the Ufa State Academy of Arts with a Master Degree in classical trumpet performance. Following his education, Rustem performed as the principle trumpet for the National Symphony Orchestra of Bashkortostan.

Building on the early eminent achievements in numerous music competitions, which accentuated his lifelong passion for jazz, Rustem continued to expand his musical horizons by taking part in various national and international festivals hosted in Moscow, Riga, Warsaw, Helsinki, Montreux, among others. Rustem has made recordings of both classical and jazz music, including the renowned music album “Bashkirian Legends” with jazz ensemble “ORLAN”, which was a national bestseller in Russia.

In 1994, Rustem moved to Thailand, where he quickly established himself as a prominent artist on Asia’s effervescent jazz scene, making a myriad of recordings and performing in numerous jazz festivals, TV shows and concerts, along with world famous jazz stars, Thailand’s distinguished jazz musicians and pop stars. Some of highlights include concerts with the Bruce Forman quintet, Bobby Durham quartet, and performances with world-leading artists such as John Thomas, Rex Richardson, Sal Cracchiolo, Steve Cannon, Tim Hauff, Terje Venaas, Ramon Vasques, and Dwight Dickerson. As a jazz trumpet soloist, Rustem has performed in America and many European countries. The 2005 International Trumpet Guild Conference hosted in Bangkok gladly welcomed Rustem’s active participation as a host of a jam session, a soloist of the closing “Festival Of Trumpets” concert, as well as a judge at the final of “Jazz Improvisation Competition”.
