About P. Mauriat

“It’s never too late to learn.” – P. Mauriat CEO Alex Mingmann Hsieh
P. Mauriat was founded in 2003 by saxophone enthusiast Mr. Alex Hsieh. The brand name was inspired by the French maestro Paul Mauriat, whose remarkable achievements left a lasting imprint on the world of music. With legitimate trademark licensing, the brand aspires to carry forward and honor the enduring legacy of music and artistry.
The journey began in 2002, when he made a life-changing decision to pursue his musical dream by enrolling in a summer program at Berklee College of Music, studying the saxophone from the ground up. Despite the significant age gap between himself and his younger classmates, he embraced every challenge with resilience and dedication, rewriting the story of the second half of his life through courage and a deep love for music.
Driven by his faith in Taiwanese craftsmanship and a heartfelt vision, he set out to build a world-class wind instrument brand that could represent Taiwan on the global stage. P. Mauriat’s vision is to revive the artistry of classic saxophones, blending traditional handcrafting with modern technology to create instruments that are not only aesthetically appealing, but also rich in character and sound.
For P. Mauriat, instruments are more than tools—they are extensions of dreams, and trusted companions that empower musicians to express themselves and tell their stories through a unique sound.
