Aldo Salvent started his musical studies in La Habana, Cuba, graduating from Amadeo Roldan Conservatory. He has played in Cuba’s top theatres and concert halls as a soloist. Also, he participated in four national classical saxophone competitions in La Habana, Cuba, winning first prize in every event.

He studied with the esteemed educators Javier Zalba, Juan Felipe Tartabull, Luis Felipe Fernandez, Carlos Averhoff, as well as private lessons in NYC with Seamus Blake, Rich Perry and Bob Franceschini.

Currently he is working on his first CD to be recorded in August 2014 as a leader with Dazzle Recordings Label in Denver-Colorado, and has a busy schedule conducting master classes and concerts worldwide leading the “Aldo Salvent Jazz Quintet”, an innovative project created in 2010 and based on Aldo’s original compositions.

Awarded with a Teaching Assistant Full Scholarship, Mr. Salvent moved to EE.UU in Fall 2013, starting his Master Degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance at Florida International University (FIU) with Prof. Gary Campbell , a very recognized Saxophonist/Composer/Author in the US.

In 2009 he became the first P. Mauriat Endorsed Saxophone Artist in Central America. He is also a Gonzalez Reeds and Drake Custom Mouthpieces Performing Artist.

Mr. Salvent was saxophone professor at the National University of Costa Rica for five years and has been invited as an international jury in several Saxophone International Festivals and Competitions in Mexico, Honduras and Costa Rica.. He recorded as a sideman in the United States with well known musicians/projects such as Paquito D`Rivera, Osmany Paredes, Yorgis Goiricelaya, Hilario Bell, Robert Vilera, among others.

As a saxophonist he has performed and toured worlwide in Taiwan, United States, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Canada, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Cuba, Brasil and Argentina, at important jazz clubs and theatres with great artists such as Rolando Luna, Jose “Chepe” Gonzalez, Alex Terrier, Josh Quinlan, Alejandro Chiabrando, Cesar Lopez, Yaroldy Abreu, Roberto Fonseca, Ramses Rodriguez, among others.

He moved in 2002 to Costa Rica and graduated from the National University of Costa Rica (UNA) with Summa Cum Laude mention. In Costa Rica he collaborates with several high profile groups and has played at the National Theatre, the Popular Theatre Melico Salazar, the Eugene O`Neill Concert Hall among others.

 


Aldo Salvent – Saxofonista / Compositor / Profesor

Aldo Salvent comenzó sus estudios en La Habana, Cuba, donde se graduó de los Conservatorios Manuel Saumell y Amadeo Roldán. Ha sido ganador cuatro veces consecutivas con el Primer Premio (1994-1997) del Concurso Nacional de Saxofón Clásico celebrados en la Habana. Ha estudiado con los maestros Juan Felipe Tartabull, Javier Zalba, Carlos Averhoff, Luis Felipe Fernández, asi como clases privadas en New York con Bob Franceschini, Rich Perry y Seamus Blake.

Culmina sus estudios de saxofón en la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (UNA) en 2005, obteniendo allí la Licenciatura, con mención Summa Cum Laude. Impartió clases en la Escuela de Música de la Universidad Nacional (UNA) como Profesor de Saxofón del Programa Preuniversitario.Sus presentaciones incluyen importantes teatros de Costa Rica como el Teatro Nacional, Teatro Melico Salazar, Teatro Eugene O’Neill, etc…Ha conformado jurados internacionales en Festivales y Competencias de Saxofón en Honduras, Costa Rica y México

Como saxofonista se ha presentado en Taiwan, Brasil, Argentina, Estados Unidos, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Cuba, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador y Ecuador, compartiendo escenarios y conciertos en los principales teatros y clubes de jazz con Rolando Luna, Yorgis Goiricelaya, Osmany Paredes, Robert Vilera, Jose “Chepe” Gonzalez, Alex Terrier, Josh Quinlan, Alejandro Chiabrando, Cesar Lopez, Yaroldy Abreu, Roberto Fonseca, Ramses Rodriguez, entre otros.

Es el primer saxofonista en Centroamérica, que obtiene un patrocinio oficial como artista de la prestigiosa compañia internacional de Saxofones P.Mauriat. Es tambien saxofonista representante de Cañas Gonzalez y Boquillas Custom Drake.

En Agosto del 2013 recibe una beca completa como Profesor Asistente en Florida International University (FIU), donde esta estudiando su Maestria en Jazz Saxophone Performance con el Maestro Gary Campbell, reconocido Saxofonista/Autor/Compositor.

Actualmente está trabajando en la grabacion de su primer CD en solitario para Agosto del 2014 con el sello disquero norteamericano Dazzle Recordings de Denver-Colorado, y continúa ofreciendo conciertos y clínicas de saxofon en diversos países con su grupo “Aldo Salvent Jazz Quintet” , un proyecto con música de su autoría que fundo en el 2010.
